LEGACYRECORDINGS RELEASING FANATIC, THEHARD-ROCK SUCCESSOR TO 2010's TOP 10 DEBUT REDVELVET CAR, ONTUESDAY, OCTOBER 2
"Kickingand Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll," TheRevelatory Memoir by Ann & Nancy Wilson On Sale Tuesday, September 18
June 27, 2012 (New York, NY) - WithHeart's Fanatic, a new studio album, and Kickingand Dreaming, an insiders'memoir, arriving this fall, 2012 is shaping up as a banner year for the iconicAmerican band who--beginning with hits like "Crazy on You,""Magic Man," and "Barracuda" in the mid-1970s runningthrough 2010's Red Velvet Car--have created an enduring catalog ofbona fide stadium rock classics and power ballads while establishing a lastingtemplate for women in rock.
Fanatic, Heart's 14th studio album, arrivesTuesday, October 2.  The group's secondfull-length studio album for Legacy, Fanatic premieres 10 new essential performances from sisters AnnWilson and Nancy Wilson on songs including "Fanatic," "Dear OldAmerica," "Walkin' Good" (featuring Sarah McLachlan), "Skinand Bones," "Million Miles," "Pennsylvania,""Mashallah," "Rock Deep (Vancouver)," "59Crunch," and "Corduroy Road."
The first albumof new music from Ann and Nancy Wilson since 2010's RedVelvet Car had its Top 10debut in 2010, Fanatic was recorded in hotel rooms and studios up and down theWest Coast, with Grammy-winning producer Ben Mink back at the helm with theWilson sisters drawing from their own lives and personal experiences asinspiration for their music.  "DearOld America" comes from memories of a military household and is writtenfrom the point of view of their father, a Marine Corps officer, returning fromwar ("When I get home, I'm going to own this town/Shine this medal/Wearthat crown…."); "Rock Deep (Vancouver)" harkens back to the citywhere Dreamboat Anniewas written; and "Walkin' Good" (a duet with Vancouver resident SarahMcLachlan) captures the joy of finding new life in a new love.
The title songis a celebration of the Wilson's life spirit: Ann and Nancy are fanatics aboutlove, art, truth, and the belief that they can do anything together they settheir minds to.  Fans looking for a firsttaste of Fanatic can check out the title trackon YouTube.
"What acrazy year we are having," said Ann Wilson.  "Our box set, StrangeEuphoria, and our book, Kickingand Dreaming, each tell thestory of our lives so far, personally and musically. Our new album, Fanatic, tells our story as it is now and bringsit all up-to-the-minute. What a thrill to have worked with both Charles Crossand Ben Mink respectively on these, and of course to touch the musical magicNancy and I have always shared together. Anybody want to RAWK??"
Released in 2010, Fanatic's predecessor, RedVelvet Car (the first newstudio album in six years from the groundbreaking Seattle-based band) enteredthe Billboard 200 best-selling album charts at #10, becoming the seventh Top 10album of Heart's career.  Heart'scritically-acclaimed first album for Legacy Recordings marked the return ofHeart to the Sony Music Entertainment family, reaching #1 in sales onAmazon.com on Sunday, September 5.
On June 5, Epic Records/Legacy Recordingsreleased Strange Euphoria, the first definitive career-spanning, multi-label boxed set retrospectivechronicling the seminal American rock band Heart, personally curated by AnnWilson and Nancy Wilson.
A carefully-considered anthology ofbiggest hits and best-loved songs set alongside deep catalog treasures, rarities, demos and live performances, Strange Euphoria includes three compact discs and one DVDin a deluxe box.
Ann Wilson and her younger sister, NancyWilson, first showed the world that women can rock when their band Heartstormed the charts in the '70s with hits like "Crazy on You,""Magic Man," "Barracuda," "Straight On,""Even It Up," "Kick It Out" and many more.  Not onlydid the Wilson sisters lead the band, they wrote the songs and played theinstruments, making them the first women in rock to do so.  Heartcontinued topping the charts through the '80s and into the '90s with huge hitslike "These Dreams," "Alone," "Never," and astring of other hits that showcased the sisters' enormous talents as bothmusicians and singers. Along the way, Heart sold more than 35 million records, had 21 top 40 hits, sold out arenas worldwide, and profoundly influenced thesound and direction of American rock music while inspiring women (and guystoo!) around the world to rock out in bands of their own.
Heart were 2008 recipients of VH1 RockHonors, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Northwest GrammyFoundation, and received ASCAP's award for Excellence in Songwriting in2009.
What's made Heart endure across fourdecades and 14 studio albums, from Dreamboat Annie (1976) through 2012's StrangeEuphoria and Fanatic is simply the quality of the music andthe Wilsons' deep connection to the emotions, psyches and experiences of theirfans.
Heart will be touring throughout thesummer and fall (June 29-November 17).  Alejandro Escovedo and ShawnColvin will be supporting in October and November respectively.  Laterthis year, Ann and Nancy Wilson will be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk ofFame (followed by a live concert webcast).
Tuesday, September 18 marks thepublication of the HarperCollins hardcover edition of Kickingand Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock and Roll, the avidly-awaited insider's memoirpenned by Ann & Nancy Wilson with noted Seattle-based author Charles R.Cross ("Room Full of Mirrors - A Biography of Jimi Hendrix";"Heavier Than Heaven" - a biography of Kurt Cobain).
Since finding their love of music andperforming as teenagers in Seattle, Washington, Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilsonhave been an influential part of the rock music landscape. From 70s classicslike "Magic Man" and "Barracuda" to chart- topping 80sballads like "Alone" up to 2012's Fanatic, Heart continues as an ongoing force inpop culture, inspiring women and men alike with the power and beauty of theirmusic.
Despite their massive success, Ann andNancy have always faced a different kind of scrutiny than their malecounterparts in hard-rock and metal band, and had to face questions that nomale rock star ever would be asked. Kicking and Dreaming allows Ann and Nancy to communicate asdirectly with the reader as their songs do with fans.  A first-hand chronicle of tumultuous inter-bandrelationships, thirty years of roller-coaster fame and continual reinvention, and, of course, the kind of excess that can comes from the surreal, andhyper-real demands of life on the road, Kicking and Dreaming is an intimate, honest, and a uniquely femaletake on rock and roll life.

(New York, NY) April 19, 2012... Juno Award winning Canadian jazz singer Kellylee Evans will make her debut New York headlining performance at the Apollo Music Cafe on Friday, May 11, 2012, as part of the second annual Harlem Jazz Shines Festival, which runs from May 7-13, 2012. Evans will be featuring material from her inspiring tribute to jazz icon Nina Simone, entitled NINA, which earned her a 2011 Juno Award for BEST JAZZ VOCAL ALBUM. Her show at the Apollo Music Cafe, which is located on the second floor of the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem, will start at 10:00 PM. Doors will open at 9 PM.
Evans, who was recently signed to Universal Music/France, and is recording material for her next CD, will be performing with a jazz trio of internationally renowned musicians including Francois Moutin on Acoustic Bass, Marvin Sewell on guitar, and Mark McClean on drums. Both Moutin and Sewell recorded NINA with Evans, (in Paris) and Moutin has performed with her several times in noted clubs and music festivals throughout France since the record was released last year.
The Harlem-wide jazz festival reunites the Festival's founding partners, the Apollo Theater, Harlem Stage and Jazzmobile, and focuses on the venues, music, and artists that were central to Harlem's cultural landscape from the 1920s through the 1970s and on contemporary jazz artists. Bringing both established and emerging artists to famed Harlem venues, the festival will pay tribute to Club Harlem, Clark Monroe's Uptown House, Havana San Juan Club, Small's Paradise, Minton's Playhouse, Showman's Cafe, Park Palace, Lenox Lounge and the Apollo Theater. In addition to concerts at Jazz Shrines, other Festival events will take place at Harlem Stage Gatehouse, Columbia University and a variety of locations throughout the Harlem area.

Designed to draw a diverse audience of neighborhood residents, New Yorkers and tourists, all events are offered at the affordable price of $10, and tickets for many of the Harlem Jazz Shrines Festival events are available now. Concerts are scheduled to allow people the option of attending several events each day, continuing the tradition of non-stop jazz throughout Harlem. For tickets and more information on the Festival and its partners, visit the Harlem Jazz Shrines' web site at www.Harlemjazzshrines.org and/or the organizations' web sites at www.apollotheater.org, www.harlemstage.org and www.jazzmobile.org.
NINA (released by Plus Loin Records in France and Canada) is Kellylee Evan’s third solo release. She independently released GOOD GIRL (2008) and FIGHT OR FLIGHT? (That earned a Juno Nomination in 2006). She drew early critical-acclaim for capturing second place at the prestigious Thelonius Monk International Jazz Vocal Competition, and has toured extensively throughout Canada. She has also performed in the US, France, Greece, and earlier this year performed at the Festival International de Jazz de Port-au-Prince in Haiti. April 26, 2012, New York, NY…Independent songwriter/singer Alisa Boniello is set to release LOVESTRUCK, her debut four-song EP on May 15, 2012. On the heels of the release, she’ll also make her premiere live headlining performance at the popular Drom nightclub (85 Avenue A, East Village) in New York, on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at
7:30 PM.

LOVESTRUCK will be available via CD.Baby.com and its’ distribution partners digitally  for $2.99. Boniello initially released the title track video, “Lovestruck,” at the top of the year, followed by the single on Valentine’s Day. She also filmed a live performance LOVESTRUCK VALENTINE’S DAY SPECIAL on Valentine’s Day online via sites like Cool Grrrls, PopYouLarity and Bella Online. The special featured three songs from her EP, taped with a live audience at Montana Studios in New York. She recorded her EP in the Fall of 2011.

Boniello collaborated  with Grammy Award winning songwriter/producer Barry Eastmond (Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, Anita Baker) on co-writing all four songs, “Lovestruck,” a retro-soul/pop ditty, “(When Will) Love Feel Real,” a love saga, the whimsical  ballad, “Why,” and the pulsating and edgy “That Kind Of Girl,” co-written and co-produced by Wendell Hanes, ( Mya, Cheri Dennis) and Dan Kramer. Eastmond also produced all the tracks except for, “That Kind Of Girl,” which he co-produced with Hanes and Kramer.

“I’m just discovering who I am as an artist,” admitted Boniello, “but I’m hoping that once people hear these songs, they’ll feel the joy I felt in writing and recording them.”

Boniello is a native New Yorker, who earned a BA degree in Classical Voice from Hunter College (May 2011). She’s been playing the piano since age 5, and over the past several years started cutting her teeth as live performer at open mic nights around the city, such as the Waltz Astoria in Queens, the Sidewalk Café, Desmond’s Tavern, and 169 Bar in Manhattan.

Her debut performance at Drom will feature Boniello fronting a four-piece band. To purchase tickets online or reserve tables, go to www.dromnyc.com.

IT’S ANOTHER CONTEMPORARY JAZZ HOME RUN FOR PROJECT GRAND SLAM WITH THE JOYFULLY MELODIC AND GROOVING ‘SPRING DANCE’

To contact us Click HERE

Los Angeles, CA- When is the last time a jazz ensemble named after the nefarious scheme of a James Bond villain packed such a solidly melodic and grooving punch?
Project Grand Slam, named by leader Robert Miller as a play on “Goldfinger”’s plan to steal all the gold from Fort Knox, is probably the first—and he and PGS are up to plenty of melodic and grooving wonder this summer on Spring Dance, their explosive new album on Cakewalk Records.
The collection’s lead track is its title tune, an upbeat, feel-good, winner penned by Miller. Miller’s other songs include the Joe Zawinal tribute “Joe Z,” a high energy blast that brings to mind the fiery fusion magic of Weather Report, complete with exotic chanting and old school keyboards; the sensual and elegant soprano sax led ballad “Ma Petite Fleur,” a piece Miller dedicates to his wife and that he calls his favorite on the collection; the brass-fired, classic blues-funk explosion “Catch You Later”; and “Flat Busted,” an in-the-pocket, mid tempo grooving urban jazz tune featuring Gilad Ronen’s hypnotic flute runs.
Ronen and Joye Hennessey’s “Remember” is featured first as a dramatic and soulful, longing romantic vocal (highlighted by strings and an emotional sax solo) and, as a coda to Spring Dance, a thoughtful and reflective instrumental that evolves into a percussive, easy rolling, rhythmically engaging samba. Ronen also composed the ambient, slightly melancholy ballad “The Turn,” which featured a smoky sax melody and soaring horn textures.
The band also covered the old Hollie’s hit, “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”.  Says Miller: “Joye did an incredible job with the song, almost like Mariah Carey singing jazz!”.
The eclectic nine-track collection is the follow-up release to PGS’ critically acclaimed 2008 debut, Play, which included the Top 20 jazz radio hit “The Captain Of Her Heart” (sung by Judie Tzuke). Five of the tracks from Play, along with the band itself (with Miller having a speaking part), were prominently featured in an episode of the hit NBC-TV series “Lipstick Jungle,” starring Brooke Shields. PGS did several live performances at clubs in NYC in addition to a charity show for the Ronald McDonald House.
For the new album Miller invited Mike Eckroth, keyboardist for guitar legend John Scofield, and alto sax man Danny Lerman to complement the core trio. After a few days of rehearsal, the new lineup of PGS convened in the studio and nailed the basic tracks in a week, with most songs done in two or three takes. After some overdubs, Justin Smith was brought in to sweeten some of the tracks with strings. And Joye Hennessey added her soaring vocals.
Miller is a renowned solo artist. His debut project, Child’s Play (Wildcat Records 1994) included performances by Randy Brecker, Jon Lucien and Anton Fig; his follow up, Prisoners of Love (1996) was released on 32 Records, a label Miller co-founded that became famous in the late ‘90s for a series of “Jazz For…” compilation recordings (Jazz For a Rainy Afternoon, Jazz For The Quiet Time, etc.) that dominated the Billboard Jazz charts and sold well over one million units. His band, The Robert Miller Group, played at many major New York area clubs, graduating to the national festival circuit where they appeared with artists like Bruce Hornsby, Bela Fleck and Kenny Barron.
“The essence of where we are as a group, and where I am personally in my life, is captured in the title track of the album with its upbeat vibe,” says Miller. “It’s a feel good kind of piece with an uplifting melody, funky beat and elements of my jazz fusion background. We’re all about strong melodies and great playing. What excites me most is exciting the listener.”

The catchy single, “Double Life” isavailable to download now on iTunes and fans can view the new video premiere onThe Glammers YouTube page.
On the second single, “Double Life” The Glammers tap in deeper emotionally as they compare the life of being famousto the life of a spy. With some powerful riffs and unparallel vocals, TheGlammers were inspired by the lives of the famous and their day to day goal toconceal their identity, with disguises and games just to blend in and becomeunrecognizable. Although it may seem glamorous to those looking in, TheGlammers remind us the grass is not always greener on the other side.  “Double Life” tells the story of a man whofeels he lives a life like a secret agent, always watching their back andfeeling that with the turn of each corner can come an unpredictable risk andadventure. All of us in some way live a doublelife. This is a story The Glammers know all too well by defying theconventional rules of a band and portraying themselves as a fully animated trio.
This noted rock band has preparedfor their album release since 2007 when they first reached unpredictablesuccess with their debut on MySpace with the singles “Messensheriff” and “Don’tLose It” (listen at www.theglammers.com).The hit songs had more than 1.5 million views (music and videos) and after thesereleases, THE GLAMMERS took some time to renew their passion to create cool indierock music that they will finally be sharing with the world June 26th.
