Arguably the greatest jazz drummer of all time, the legendaryBuddy Rich received recognition throughout his career being presented with TheDownbeat Magazine Hall of Fame Award, the Modern Drummer Magazine Hall of FameAward and the Jazz Award are just a few of his numerous honors. Richtoured around the globe, performing for millions of fans and several worldleaders including the King of Thailand, King Hussein of Jordan the Queen ofEngland, and U.S. presidents Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and RonaldReagan.
After her father's passing, his daughter Cathy has devotedher life to preserving the legacy she was born into. It was Buddy's wishto keep his band and music alive and it has been her mission to make sure herfather's wish came true.
After a 24 year hiatus from the road, Cathy Rich has puttogether a fresh crop of the finest young musicians to record and tour inBuddy's name. She has enlisted Emmy award winner drummer Gregg Potter tohelm the project. Gregg's fire, showmanship, and drumming prowess adds anew exciting chapter to the history of this legendary band.
